What is your idea behind Largesse company?

IIse: We source products from all over the world, and communities where they are handmade and all our products make a difference in the lives of people. All of our products have a story and they are eco-friendly and they are people friendly. We like to think of them as beautiful products that bring joy while being kind to people who make them.

How did you come up with this idea?

IIse: It was clear to us a while ago. We've been in this business for a while and we focus a lot on corporate gifting and now we are branching out to retail as well. A few years ago there weren't that many choices for people who didn't want to just spend money mindlessly and especially corporations and businesses that wanted to put thought and would love their products and have a story behind them. We have traveled the world and grown up across the world so appreciate products from everywhere can have an appeal, and we feel that brings people across the world together if they can appreciate each other's products.

Heidi: I really love to buy gifts, give gifts, and receive gifts and it matters to me that what I give, I put a lot of thought into it, so that the person appreciates the gift. I like the same thing when I recieve gifts, and it's important to me that when I give or receive a gift, that it's meaningful and is also good for the planet, so that's the thought behind everything here.

If you were going to give one piece of advice to a family who is considering going down the Eco friendly path, what would that be?

IIse: One thing I would say is just think, especially when you're spending money, think about what you're spending it on and how long are you going to use it. Could you reuse it? Is there something you have that you could re-purpose for the same use. When you throw something away, I like to tell people, remember that there is no "I'm throwing it away. There is no away." Away is still on the planet. Away is still in a landfill. So make sure that you think about and is there a way that you can throw it away so that it can be reused.

What else do you think humanity needs to do in order to make our world truly clean?

IIse: I strongly believe that you know there is that saying that "I'm too small to make a difference," says 8 billion people. Well that's not true. If each of us were mindful about our actions it will add up and then it will inspire the next person. However, I also firmly believe that we will have to get to a point where legislation guides us as well. There should also be a corporate mindset that we have to be in this together. Every bit helps but it's not enough so it has to start culminating because we don't have much time.
